A person identifies him/her/they/..-self with civilization, culture, people. The more he/she/they/... dives into self-study, the more he/she/they/... feels different from people of other cultures and similar to the ones of his own, in which he/she/they/... was born and lives. Dealing with other cultures helps a person to see the differences or similarities with other people. The most interesting is that this process can have different scenarios and lead to unexpected results. For example, a person can loose self-identification in his/her/they... native culture and find something absolutely new.
